Detailed Info about Czech Republic

Employment type allowed: Fixed term and indefinite contract

  • Work Type:40h/week
  • Probation period: maximum 4 months
  • Background checks: upon request
  • Notice Period: during probation, immediate effect; after probation it will be 60 days
  • Employer Cost: 34%
  • Mandatory Benefits:

13 National Holidays
20 or more vacation days (depends on the contract)
Bereavement leave - 1 or 2 days (depends on relationship)
Marriage leave - 1 or 2 days (depends on relationship)
Sick leave (with medical certificate) - first 14 days, then paid by local social security office
Maternity leave - 28 weeks
Parental leave - 2 - 4 years (the worker is not paid)
Paternity ("father's") leave - 14 days (must be used within the 1st 6 weeks the child is born

  • Termination costs: Worked days and accrued vacation must be paid out upon termination. Employees made redundant must receive severance pay which is dependent upon seniority with the employer.
